Lucifer Season Two—And Now the Romance

Lucifer season two
Lucifer Season 2

Lucifer is still in LA helping Detective Chloe Decker solve crimes.

1—Family

I find Lucifer less sleazy in this season, possibly because the focus is more on the family drama—Lucifer’s mother has escaped Hell, Amenadiel has lost his wings, and his and Luci’s other brother Uriel shows up.

Then there’s Chloe and Dan, still in the process of getting a divorce. Dan realizes he’s still in love with Chloe even though he’s the one who suggested they divorce. Maz also moves in with Chloe and Trixie, which is fun.

2—Developing Character

Lucifer gets some guilt in this season and character growth. He also shows his true face to Dr. Linda, who handles is well all things considered. The romance between Chloe and Lucifer takes about half the season to really get going but I’m glad of that as I dislike most romance subplots. This one is well tied in though and furthers both Lucifer’s and Chloe’s characters. Also, Chloe cannot flirt, at all.

Conclusion

I liked this season better than the first. I’m also glad we get to see a couple of Lucifer’s male lovers, albeit one’s a murder victim. Maz does indeed stand up for herself more in this season. And I think Dr. Linda finding out the truth about Lucifer and gang was an interesting turn for multiple characters. I’ll be watching the third season.
