Podcasts for Writers

I know I’ve linked to these podcasts previously separately, but I figured I should put them all in one place. That, and they’re really good and all deserve another shout out.

1—The Creative Penn

Hosted by Joanna Penn, an indie author and entrepreneur. In the first part of the podcast, she disseminates the latest developments in technology etc that impacts indie authors. Then the second part is an interview with an author.

2—Writing Excuses

“Fifteen minutes long, because you’re in a hurry, and we’re not that smart.” Hosted by authors Brandon Sanderson, Dan Wells, Howard Tayler, and Mary Robinette Kowal, as well as others, starting in season 12. They spend each episode diving into some aspect of writing. I recommend the episodes on Elemental Genres (which can be found in season eleven), and the Alumni Favorites.

3—Write Through the Roof

This podcast seems to have stalled out at fifty-four episodes, but they’re still a lot of fun. Madeleine D’Este interviews authors and asks them, amongst other things, what one thing took their writing to the next level.
